Case Study: MUVE
Category: Insulated Water Bottles
Project: Circular Packaging Design, Illustration, Icon Creation
Impact: Reduced Unecessary Packaging, Increased Recyclability
MUVE is an eco-conscious brand based in Melbourne Australia on a mission to reduce plastic water bottles and takeaway coffee cups from the environment.
MUVE approached me looking for a more sustainable way to protect their high-quality bottles & mugs during shipping. The goal was to eliminate unnecessary packaging which included plastic wrap, swing tags and additional product communication.
The original scope of the project was to design secondary packaging and reduce unnecessary materials. However, through the brand discovery phase, I identified an opportunity to extend the life of the package and enhance the customer journey through on-pack marketing communications and interactivity.
Material selection, reduction of unrenewable materials and considerations around end use were the cornerstones of the final design.
The project was a great success! By looking beyond just the design and considering how the container could enhance the customer experience was key to the final solution.
By adding a QR code on pack, customers can easily explore fun ways to repurpose the cardboard tube container. Utalising the top of lid for hydration facts, further reduces the need for swing tags and extra marketing inserts.
“We couldn’t recommend Nancy enough! The entire process from start to finish was seamless and she was super helpful in offering ideas to take our new product packaging to a new level.”
